Year in Review 2025

At Terenure Enterprise Centre (TEC), community and enterprise go hand in hand. As a social enterprise, all funds raised through our workspace rentals and meeting room bookings is reinvested back into programmes, services, and facilities that support local people. In 2025, we continued to tackle digital exclusion and social isolation through our Digital & Social Programme for older people, while also providing affordable, flexible space for start-ups, small businesses, remote workers, and community groups. This year was defined by growth, collaboration, and impact, strengthening local enterprise, lifelong learning, and community wellbeing.

A Hub of Activity and Opportunity

Our centre continued to buzz with activity throughout 2025, welcoming over 19,000 visits and reinforcing TEC’s role as a vibrant and welcoming community hub. We supported 31 local businesses through our workspaces and recorded an impressive 257 hot desk bookings, reflecting growing demand from freelancers and remote workers. Our meeting spaces were used by 39 external community, voluntary, sporting, and local business groups, enabling groups such as St Michael’s House, Foróige Youth Services, and Baby Massage with Carla Roberts to deliver meaningful services locally. We are proud to provide affordable, accessible spaces that help businesses thrive and community groups make a real difference.

Empowering Older Adults Through Digital & Social Engagement

2025 was a standout year for our Digital & Social Programme, with 753 attendees taking part in courses and activities designed to build skills, confidence, and connection. One of our most exciting highlights was the launch of the DigiSocial Café, an innovative intergenerational programme where local Transition Year students partnered with older participants over six weeks to boost digital confidence in a relaxed, supportive setting. The programme was a resounding success, sparking new friendships and mutual learning across generations.

Alongside this, our ever-popular Pilates classes remained fully booked, while creative and educational favourites such as card making, history, and painting continued to attract strong interest. Together, these programmes created welcoming spaces for learning, movement, creativity, and meaningful social connection throughout the year.

Hands-On Experience, Real Impact

This year we were proud to support 11 individuals through our community-based work placement programme, including participants from the Tús initiative and student placements. These placements provided meaningful, hands-on work experience, helping participants build skills, confidence, pathways into employment, and making a hugely valuable contribution to our centre.

Championing an Autism-Friendly Community

We were honoured to continue our role in supporting Autism Friendly Terenure. Throughout the year, we hosted champion training sessions, committee meetings, and a community coffee morning fundraiser, creating welcoming spaces for learning, collaboration, and awareness. A key highlight early in the year was an introductory event attended by over 30 representatives from local businesses, community groups, and sports organisations, exploring how community champions can be equipped with the knowledge and tools to foster more inclusive environments for local autistic children and adults. With support from AsIAm, Involve Autism, and Dublin City Council, the initiative continues to build strong momentum towards a more autism-friendly community.

Introducing The Savoy: A Flexible Meeting Space

This summer marked the opening of The Savoy, our new ground-floor meeting space, which has quickly become an integral part of life at TEC. Designed with flexibility and comfort in mind, the Savoy has hosted a wide range of meetings, seminars, training sessions, and exercise and wellness activities since opening. Its bright, modern setting and adaptable layouts, ranging from theatre-style seating for larger events to boardroom and fitness configurations, have made it a popular choice for both business and community use. The Savoy’s success reflects growing demand for accessible, versatile spaces that support connection, learning, and wellbeing within our centre.

A Sustainable Future

This year we reached a major sustainability milestone with the installation of a 45kW solar panel system, following twelve months of careful planning, research, and collaboration. Since going live, the panels have already helped save 9,653kg of CO₂ emissions, significantly reducing the centre’s environmental footprint and supporting a more sustainable future. This project was made possible with the support of the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications and Dublin City Council through the Government’s Climate Action Fund. We are especially grateful to Community Climate Action Officer Dean Eaton for his guidance, to PV Generation for delivering the installation, and to our neighbours on Cormac Terrace for their trust and cooperation in bringing this important initiative to life.

Gratitude for the Team

That Makes It Happen

As we look back on an inspiring year at TEC, we want to extend our sincere thanks to our incredible staff team and voluntary board of trustees. Their dedication, creativity, and commitment are at the heart of everything we achieve, and their work continues to make a meaningful difference for our community every day. As we step into 2026, we do so with optimism and excitement, ready to build on this momentum and embrace the new opportunities ahead together.
