Stress Awareness with Niamh O’Connell from The Wellness Clinic

Thurs 30th April

10am-11am; FREE

Join us for a practical and reassuring talk on stress awareness with Niamh O’Connell of The Wellness Clinic, designed especially to address the realities of stress in later life. While stress is often associated with busy working years, it remains a significant factor in our health and wellbeing well beyond the age of 55.

In this talk, Niamh explores what stress is, why it still matters as we age, and the common sources of stress that can arise in later life. She explains how stress affects the body, mind, and overall health, and how to recognise the signs of stress as we grow older.

The session will also include gentle, accessible techniques to help calm the nervous system, including breathing and relaxation practices, as well as movement and everyday habits that support resilience and reduce stress. Niamh will discuss managing thoughts and emotions, adapting to life changes, and building a personal “stress toolkit” to support ongoing wellbeing, while also highlighting when and how to seek additional support.

Attendees are welcome to email a question in advance to niamh@thewellnessclinic.ie. Questions will be included anonymously during the Q&A session or woven into the talk where they reflect common concerns, ensuring the content is as relevant and supportive as possible.
