This course will look at personal stories of Irish men and women who made an impact at home and abroad. One such story was Kay McNulty, pioneering computer programmer. Another story, how Maureen Sweeney’s weather forecast changed the course of the D-Day landings and finally the story of Brendan O’Regan who was in charge of the first duty-free shop at Shannon “a world first” and was also responsible for developing a “free industrial zone” beside Shannon Airport.
