The ‘Emigrant Girl’

The emigration of thousands of Irish women to Britain raised serious questions about the opportunities and the roles of women within the new State, especially given their importance in sustaining the growth of the nation. The course will look at the impact women’s migration had on Ireland during the crucial years of independence.
